i am teh coding Newbz0rz!

OK, so i am dumb. changed all the cool config stuff and broke the TUIO on/off button (rendering it useless). I tested everything else last night but that d’oh!

Anyhow, r152 is up now with working TUIO again. (like, 3 lines had to change, i suck!)

here is the new binary:

    Hi Ben,

I hope you are well? I left a message in the thread that Sandor has started on Nui, but thought id also post here aswell!

Right here goes, oh congrats on the new build by the way! I downloaded and installed openCV, then downloaded the new build of BBtouch. Very Nice! Then noticed that my shinny new firefly was showing a screwy image all blocky. So i clicked on cam settings and changed the default to dvcam hoping that this would fix it! NO!

So i changed the setting to NONE! Oopps! BBtouch then crashes and is now stuck in a crash loop! Even deleting the download and starting again with a fresh one doesn’t stop the endless crashing! When will it stop!

Sorry i fell off for a minute then! So anyway how do i fix it and how do i get the Firefly to work!

Also i know that it does work because i tested it on Touche! I would very much prefer to use BBtouch for tracking though so please Jim can you fix it for me?!

    hey Aj,

hopefully you found a solution to this by now, but if it still doing that, trash the prefs and start over, then if it is still crashing have a look at your console log and send me whatever it says there right after (and right before) the crash. (or, find the bbtouch crashlog and send me that :-)

if BBtouch is loading but the camera is still showing crazy noise, then open the settings and change the compression settings. (i use component yuv with my fire-i)

let me know how it goes!

Hmm it appears that the TUIO tester that you created doesn’t work on my ppc mac now that i have installed opencv?

  4. Ben says:

    Hey AJ,

that is odd :-( it runs fine on my PPC, and it doesn’t even use openCV. are there any logs in the console?

    Sorry Ben,

Classic case of not reading the instructions properly! I hadn’t put the framework in my library! It works fine now. I keep forgetting which machine im on and what’s installed and where!

Also when i go full screen to set up the calibration grid i cant get out of the place holder?

  6. Ben says:

    Hey AJ,

Yeah, i really need to make the openCV framework a private framework. I think that is what is messing up most people. I also need to update the quick start guide to reflect all the new stuff :-)

about the views: when one of you views is fullscreen, you should be able to click on one of the other views (might take a second click) and it should behave just like it did before. The placeholder does not respond to any actions, so you will need to click on one of the other ones. One thing that will mess it up is if you go fullscreen on more than one view at a time (i have a tendancy to do this, i go fullscreen on the projection mesh, get it all set up, then go fullscreen on the test view to see how i did. this will mess it up :-)
